WHAT WE DO

RAE2008

The Research Policy Office supports the development and implementation of the University’s research strategies and policies, manages the University’s preparations for the Research Assessment Exercise 2008, administers the Central Research Support Fund which supports research activities in the University, and issues relevant to research governance and ethics.

The preparations for the University’s submission to the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise is co-ordinated and managed by the Research Policy Office. Click for details of the University’s performance in the 2001 RAE.

 

CENTRAL RESEARCH SUPPORT FUND

The Central Research Support Fund provides financial support in the following Strategic Areas:

 
  • RAE 2008
Support mechanisms to ensure the University is properly prepared and positioned to optimise its performance in RAE 2008 and beyond.
 
  • Internationalisation

Funding streams to support the internationalisation of the University’s research and education activities.

 
  • People
Resources to enable the recruitment and retention of internationally-recognised academic leaders, as well as those who have the capacity to become so.

 

RESEARCH GOVERNANCE, INCLUDING RESEARCH ETHICS AND MISCONDUCT

The Research Policy Office is responsible for issues relating to research governance. This includes the implementation of the Research Governance Framework and research ethics to ensure that all research undertaken by both staff and students is conducted to the highest standards of integrity.
